Once broken, considered sold?

My waiting has come to an end. The much anticipated eyeshadow pallet has finally arrived!

Before that, let me tell you a bit about my purchase. Manly (pronounced as Mun-Lee) is a Hong Kong brand. I came to know about this pallet from MrsImran blog and bought it from the makeup artist she recommended. This is the 120 colors pallet, and cost only RM70! I loike!

Back to the story. I was just so psyched when I got a call from the delivery guy earlier this afternoon, saying he was on the way to deliver it. As he arrived, he was pretty amused seeing me standing in front of the door at the lobby. He blurted out " Laaa kak, awat tak tunggu saya naik ataih?". Hahaha!

But I was pretty disappointed once I opened the package. You want to know why?!? THIS is why!

See. Though it came in a bubble wrap, not only the casing was broken, but some of the colors were hancus too! I think all in all, adalah berbelas colours that was spoilt due to the delivery. I actually thought each colours would have a separate covers protecting it, because that's what I read in some of the reviews about this pallet. But apparently, it didn't. Perhaps, maybe the seller could've written there "Fragile, handle with care" instead, but I doubt if that would make any difference. Well, what can I say, shit happens!

Even so, I was just so very semangat to salvage it so I compressed them again with tissue papers, Ok lah,  as long as they can still be used, I'm okay with it.

I simply lurrrrrrrrve all those purple, pink and natural hues they have in there. They're just so candy-like, I feel like eating them right away! Now, excuse me while I start painting my face with rainbow colors. Yeeeeeeeha!!

Duit Nuffnang nak beli apa?

I'm sure many many of you bloggers out there yang dah pernah cash out your Nuffnang earnings, tak? It's the first time for me, biasa lah blogger picisan katanya. Haha! Initially, I wanted to wait until at least my earnings could get me an LV or Channel, but then I had a second thought. What if throughout the process of earning THAT much, which could take hundreds of years I might die before I get to taste my duit hasil titik peluh blogging. So in the end I thought, takyah panjang cerita, cash out ja lah!

I am yet to receive it, as it would take about a month for the cheque to arrive, isn't it? Anyway, I plan to buy a makeup, foundation/compact to be exact; with that money. I have yet to find one that makes me look good in them, most that I've tried makes me look either like tepung gomak or cakey. So after googling for a couple of days, I'm deciding on either one of the MAC compact foundations, but I can't say if it'll be the best for me as I've no experience in using it.

Though I've got normal skin which used to be soooo.. ehem!..youthful and radiant, (hehe!) but it's aging now. And I can the signs of aging on my skin, like a breakout more regular than before which used to be like once in every 10 years but now it's once every month!!. So I need something that would not trigger regular break outs and stuff like that, you know. Oh, and most importantly, something less than RM200!! Mahal-mahal tak mampu lah ok! Hehehe!

So please, any suggestions ladies?

Jalan-jalan cari Birthday Present!

For the whole week, both the little guy and I had been cooped up in the house all day long. I was too lazy to bring him down to the park or playground, and I was even too lazy to get out at night though we've made plans for night outing since early this week.

Hence, the little guy was so very excited when we went out last night. It's like he hadn't seen the outside world for one whole year! The big guy brought him to the indoor playground at Jusco while I did some shopping but surprise of all surprises, he got bored with it after a couple of minutes. He was more interested in playing this game at the Jusco toy section, and refused to part with it. Eeee mengada tau! Main kat indoor playground RM2 tak suka, benda mahal-mahal suka sangat!!! Spoil brat sungguh! Hiks.

But of course we didn't buy it for him. We only splurged on cheapo stuff for him this time. But I guess I know what to make others buy him for his 3rd birthday already! Muahahahahaha! *gelak syaiton*

But this was what he wanted instead. Tsk tsk tsk. Memilih macam mak dia jugak!

Cartridge saja RM99 each. Tercekik bapak hang tau! So to all aunties, uncles, grandmas and grandpas; take note of this. The little guy momma requested these cartridges for his 3rd birthday. If anyone is keen to sponsor the V Motion Active Learning System pun boleh jugak. Mak tak kisaaaaaaaaah!!!Wakakakaka!

But until your next birthday little guy, please make do with the Sesame Street DVD ok! Heeeee!

Jalan-jalan menghabiskan amo!

Before my sister and family went back to KL, she passed some money for us to bring the little guy 'jalan-jalan'. And so, big momma thought there'll be none other 'jalan-jalan' more enjoyable for the little guy than jalan-jalan to Toys R Us, isn't it?!? And so that's where the jalan-jalan money was spent, on his first ever "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spidey Toy"!

If it was up to me, the toy helmet it would be. But because the little guy couldn't keep his mouth shut from chanting the magical word "Spiderman", the big guy was adamant to get him spidey toy jugakkk! I have to say it was our best purchase ever. The look on his father's face when we got him the Spiderman Battle Truck was simply priceless!

Nafsu jahat!

Amidst the tight budget this year, we just have to scrape off the curtain I wanted new curtain from our raya list.

So since there's no new curtain, haruslah beli something new to get into raya mood isn't it? Baju raya? Kasut raya? Tudung raya? All done before the fasting month.! So  what to buy?

Because I got an order to shop for my mom, the big guy was tricked into buying new raya bedsheet for us too! Despite the fact that we already have 9 bedsheets in store. Muahahaha!

Something Nostalgic #1 : From Milk Teddy To Coach

I've had these two boxes transferred from my parent's house to ours. One is filled with tonnes of books, and the other one is filled with my old belongings.

I found quite a number of nostalgic items in the 2nd box. I  can't seem to throw most of it out as they used to mean a lot to me. Most of it anyway. So. I'm thinking to start a series of posts about the nostalgic stuff I've had in my life. Let's start with one and see how it progress.

The first item that is useless but which I refused to throw away is this Milk Teddy purse. It was the first ever purse the big guy bought for me, almost 9 years ago while we started dating. Up to my pleasant surprise, his splurging on me has upgraded from a puluhan RM purse to ribuan ratusan RM handbags.

Well done big guy! Looking at the leap we made, within the next 9 years, I'm sure we would upgrade into Channel something better! Hehehe!

Cottons are soooo yummylicious!

I saw this blogshop owner on the tele just now. I wish I've came across them a couple of weeks earlier, before I bought my raya material! 

I've always been a fan of cotton, but were never confident enough to carry the look. First,  the major setback is that I think cottons are for the skinny people. Because for plump ladies like me, they make us look even plumper. Other than that, cotton designs are pretty limited to floral, which I think fit little girls so well, but not us adults.

However, nowadays cottons designs have been given a touch of glamor. They not only have sweet  pale, floral designs now, but they too have the abstracts, the striking, the colorful and the classy designs.

If you want a more glamorous look, you can always add on some beading to the material. If only I haven't bought the materials earlier, I definitely am willing to try one of these to see if they suit me. Perhaps for raya haji boleh kot?

There's a few request for me to tepek the Ariani pics. I was too lazy actually because they're just the plain ones, nothing extra ordinary about them. But since there's even one reader emailed me asking about it (you know who you are ;-) ), I guess I'll just tepek ja lah kan.

Haaa see! Ambik gambar pun halal balal, I'm just plain lazy to hang it nicely and all! Btw, another reader just texted me saying Ariani is now available in Sg. Petani, no need to order jauh-jauh dah. Oh well, I think there's also another one in Alor Setar kan. Cuma I ja tak sampai-sampai lagi. Anyone interested to be my personal shopper? I want to have the printed ones pulak like this!

Ariani dah sampai!

Last couple of weeks, I came across this entry in Yana's blog about Ariani having sale. Dengan baik hati, she offered to buy for anyone interested. Since I was looking for awning tudung but couldn't find the colors that I wanted in Penang, I emailed her the details.

The parcel arrived today. I initially wanted the RM23 (discounted from RM60++) per piece with three colors in mind. But since there were limited choices so Yana got me the slightly more expensive ones with the colors that I ordered. Thanks Yana! I owe you one.

Yabedabedu! Tudung raya dah ada, baju raya bila lagi? :-D

Oh, just in case anyone is wondering. No I haven't finish ganti puasa, but in the midst of ganti puasa secara marathon now. Hehe.

Pengalaman menggembirakan dan menyeramkan in one night!

Last Friday night, we visited the big guy's colleague who had just undergone a brain surgery. At Penang Adventists Hospital. So alang-alang we were around that area, we shot off to Feringghi.

The last time we went there was when I was pregnant with Irfan. It has been 2 long years that I almost forgot how CROWDED the place is with local people and foreigners too! The stretch of stalls along the pedestrian walk goes on forever. At one point while I was walking along the street, I thought I was going to faint! It was hot. It was crowded. But it was all interesting at the same time that I didn't want to stop walking.

Unfortunately,  no pictures were taken as we were busy stopping at each and every stalls admiring the stuff they have there. Among the goods offered were fake designer bags, sunglasses, clothes, shoes, jeweleries, table runners, cushion covers, home deco and countless items tat I can't seem to recall at the moment.

However, the goodies that really caught my attention was the various colorful bangles selling at such low price! I managed to grab only 4 though, before the big guy gave me a hard stare. Oh, if you haven't know, that's cue for us ladies to stop buying; or else! Hehe. But they are like reaaaaally dirt cheap, selling from RM10 per piece to belasan ringgit. Any one can afford them, that's for sure!

Hey y'all! Mamu nak pi CHAMBERING sat naa! Daaa!

We didn't walk until the end of the street though as the little guy was tired and wanted to be dukung all the time. So after almost an hour walking around, we made a detour to the car park. Once inside, the big guy's genius brain suddenly came up with a crazy idea. He wanted to go round island, in the middle of the night. Yerp it was nearing midnight, and he wanted to take the winding road through Teluk Bahang to go home. 

Naively, as I never went round island during the night,  I agreed with him. That was the most stupid decision I ever made in my whole life! Seriously, if you ever think of going round island in the middle of the night, I advise you not to. There was this one stretch of the road near Teluk Bahang, where the road were so narrow and dark, that even when the big guy was driving 40km/h it felt like he was speeding!  One side of the road was the semak samun segala, and the other side was gaung. There were seriously no street lights at all. None. Nil. ZERO! Yilek! I was so afraid for our lives then! Mengucap banyak-banyak ja time tu. I was also afraid to look at anywhere else but my own hands, takut nampak benda-benda tak di ingini. Heeee! Scary!

At one time during the looooooong drive, I tried to look for the Quranic verses CD but it was hard to see anything in the dark. I turned down the volume of the radio as I was feeling uneasy, but the big guy responded by saying " Lahhhhh! Lagi la seram ok when you turn down the volume!". Haaa! It definitely gave me goosebumps all over the body when he said out loud what I've been thinking all the while! That night, it took forever for us to reach home. All I wanted to do once we arrived was duck under the cover and be thankful that we were back home in one piece!

So two pieces of advices for you guys out there :

1) If you ever make it to Penang, don't forget to jenguk the Feringgi Night Market for all sorts of interesting and CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP goods to bring back home.

2) BUUUUTTTT, never attempt to go round island in the middle of the night. You might not be able to survive the suspense throughout the journey!

Sejak bilakah saya evolved menjadi begini?

My BFF called me sometime last week for a chit-chat. She's currently undergoing her 7 months course in INTAN. Well, to cut story short, she remarked on my domesticity-ness, which mostly she read through the blog.

Of course, back when we were in school, I never would have thought that I would enjoy being a housewife. I was more attracted to the working life as my mom was a working mom too, a banker she was. I wanted to have my own money to splurge and to wear pretty clothes and not smell of chicken all the time. Literally, I mean. 

But as the marriage progress, I made up my mind on what's best for me and the family. And so decided to be a SAHM, at least for now. I don't know what would happen in the future, but as for now, even as a SAHM I could still earn money and splurge on myself once in a while. Alhamdulillah.

Anyway, what she was really commenting was how psyched I get over furniture, Corelle and such. Yeah, I'm such a domestic goddess I know! Haha!

Which reminds me, I'm still sulking with the big guy. That's because last night when I was really, really craving for apple crumble, he refused to buy the thing I needed to make it. Oh, he wouldn't mind buying the ingredients and all, but he refused to buy the bakeware I needed to bake them!

How can I bake apple crumble without the bakeware, now you tell me!?

Anyway, the big guy mentioned that if I want it, I'm just gonna have to wait until we set foot in Langkawi again. WHEN WHEN WHEN IS THAT?!?!? I want to make apple crumble, like...NOW! Why can't we just buy them at Tesco?

But oh, I do have a few things on my list to grab if we ever set foot in Langkawi again.

1) Some Pyrex bakeware.

2) Visions to replace my old one which has been destroyed during an explosion. Refer here.

3) Loose Corelle plates to add to my collection.

4)  My beloved RM10 teko kopi, which story I shall narrate later for you guys to sympathize me with.

5-10) Shall add more to the list later. Hahaha!

OMG! Looking at the list above, I have to admit, I'm truly a domestic goddess! Very makcik-makcik indeed!!

Bukan nak complain, tapi susah sungguh jadi wanita!

It's not easy being a woman. Agree?

Women must dress well, inside and outside the house. A man can get away wearing mismatch outfits, but not us women! No we don't. If we go out facing the public with a dark green blouse and an apple green tudung, other women would be whispering behind our back. Confirm colour blind minah nih.  Yes, to that extend okeh!

That's the reason why, though this might seem like such a small matter to you guys, it is not to us women. We need lots and lots of tudung to match with our outfits. You might think that your spouse has a mountain of collections in the wardrobe, but then these tudung goes in and out of style like nobody's business! So if currently the only tudung(s) that conquers her wardrobe are of the bawal species, please please bring her tudung shopping. You should get her A SERIES OF NEW COLLECTIONS, to match her every outfits. This is just so she could held her head up high in the air when she goes out in the public.

Oh btw, gambar adalah hiasan semata-mata. Entry dan gambar tidak ditujukan kepada seorang suami specifically. It's for general viewing pleasure. But if ONE PARTICULAR HUSBAND take it to heart, then what can I say?!? Hahahaha!

Beaded blouses at Penang Indian Festival

I'm a big fan of bling bing dresses and blouses. Because I'm not an accessory girl, so I feel that  bling-bling outfits would cover my lack of jeweleries. 

So last weekend my biras told me that there's a 'Penang International Indian Festival ' going on in Penang Times Square. I took the opportunity to scout around for something that might suits me. There were lots of beaded blouses, punjabi suits, beaded shoes, beaded bags and Indian accessories selling here. Not only that, but you can also find table cloth (the Dubai kind that used to be famous once upon a time), and other household items like cushion cover, table runner etc.

I didn't spend too much time in here though as the place was crowded with people. Pening! However, I managed to get 2 blouses that looks almost like the kind of blouses that you would get at Jusco, save for the bling bling at the neckline. Selling at RM15 per blouse, they're really dirt cheap! I would've got myself ten of it if not because we had limited time to spend here. Also for the fact that it's not so easy to find the blouses that fits my requirement : ones that doesn't look too Indian. And the big guy requirements : no sleeveless even though worn with inner, no thin material even with inner, no this no that!! Arghhh! He had too much requirements that if I were to list them all here, it would take one whole day for you to finish reading them!

Anyway, if you live in Penang and love all those beaded Indian outfits, head off to Berjaya Times Square now! The festival is ongoing until the 13th June 2010, 12pm-10pm daily.

A blue patent leather Coach

Remember this entry? Want to know what I meant when I said there's another one coming my way in the comment section?

Well, here is. I was pretty much attracted to the hot pink one, the no.3. But I didn't want to have too many pink handbags, so I opt for another color, DARK BLUE. But since the dark blue is out of stock, my sister got a lighter shade instead.

And I love it all the same!

It's been too long since the last time we bought anything for the house. Kesian rumah. Kalau 'dia' boleh merajuk, sure dah merajuk.

So I found this pic on FB. I was and still is drooling over it. It's ultra cute! I can already imagine how gorgeous it would look standing besides the cupboard in Irfan's room. Perhaps we can sumbat some of his toys, diapers stock and whatnot in there. But then again, do I really want to waste money on something I WANT rather than something that WE NEED??? Haish...temptation, temptation!

Btw, it's selling at RM180, from Bumblebee. Anyone interested, sila cari di kedai bayi berhampiran anda!

Pesta Buku Pulau Pinang

Thanks to someone who posted the info on my FB,  last Saturday we managed to terjah the Pesta Buku Pulau Pinang held at the Millenium Hall, Kepala Batas, Penang.

We, oh no let me rephrase it, SAYA had fun at the event. Browsing and browsing and picking up books that attracted my attention. And then picked up some more at another section, and realizing that my hands were full, decided to put back the former ones that I picked up. Haha! Yeah, I had such hard times deciding on the best ones to buy for the son. Kalau possible memang nak angkut satu dewan, but  in my case, money does not fall from the sky, you know.

Sadly, there aren't as many books as I had imagined, and the event itself wasn't as big as those I used to go to while I was a kid. I could see that many kids were more interested in the stationery, puzzles, games etc rather than picking up books for their parents to pay for. Perhaps because the books available didn't managed to catch their attention. I'd suggest for the organizer to bring in more books next time.

I managed to grab a handful of books for the son though, and only one for me as stated earlier. Some of the workbooks for preschollers are real cheap, like RM1 per piece! You can bet I almost went crazy looking at those RM1 florescent stickers and siku my way through the crowds to grab Irfan's share of the books!  Perhaps it can be used later when I'm up to the idea of teaching the son heavier stuff.

Can you guess which among those are my fave? Well, you guess right! It's the encyclopedias. They were selling at RM28 per book, the price is such a steal! I just wished they had more in the series.

The encyclopedias are very attractive because they integrated the Winnie the Pooh series cartoon characters in each page. Irfan loves them, and I have fun reading them to him every time.

For less than RM200, we got all those books above plus a paperback for me. Looking at all the hasil rembatan and the price we got them for, I'd say it's worth the ride all the way to the mainland.

Next time, sila buat Pesta Buku kat Island pulak ok!
