Aren't we all ladies turning into our mothers as we grew older?

FLASH BACK.

Growing up, I've always seen my mother diagnosing hers and our penyakit by herself. At times, she would tell our physicians which medications should she or any one of us the kids be given, for the diseases that she diagnosed us with. My mom even have the Medical Bible she would refer to every time she heard someone got infected with certain sickness.

FAST FORWARD.

As suspected earlier, I've got infected with UTI. I've had it once during my early pregnancy, which was like almost 3 years back. So I when I had almost the similar symptoms last night, like the burning sensation to urinate but not being able to do it properly, I knew it's got to be it! But unlike last time, las night there was blood in my urine so I was quite alarmed at first and started to imagine the worst. I was actually quite afraid to go to sleep for fear of dying in my sleep, hahaha! So I googled about the infection and read everything that I needed to know about it, at 1am in the morning. It was not the best move as reading about it only agitated me more than ever!

Anyway, this morning the big guy went to work with promise to come back in the afternoon to bring me to the clinic. So we went. He insisted that we went see my Gynea but I was so damn persistent NOT TO because I still can't get the horror of visiting the gynae every single month during my pregnancy.outta my head. So we went to see the regular physician instead.

Once inside the room, I practically implied to the physician that I have UTI before he could even check my urine. Once he went through the routine check up, my own diagnosis turned out to be true! So I proudly mendabik dada to the big guy, declaring "I'M GOOD! I CAN DIAGNOSE MY OWN DISEASE!!"

You know what his reply to me was? He simply said "Yes dear, you're turning into your mother!". Hahahaha! Phewww! I have to say, that's a scarrryyy thought ok!

Our own Art Galery to be open soon!

Remember I had these boxes transferred from my mum's place to ours?

It has sooo many useful things in there. Especially for the little guys. It was not only filled with books but a lot of stationary like pencil colors, crayons, water colors, pencil cases and stuff. The little guy went bonkers once he saw them but I put them up high high in his toy drawers so that he won't be drawing on the walls.

So since he is sooo into colors nowadays sampai nak makan pun siap identify the colors of each food bagai, so I thought why not we have some fun with colors? And this is how we do it! I asked him to say out loud the color that he wanted, and asked him to picked it up fromt he box. Just to make sure he knows the color by name.

The son's FIRST EVER masterpiece is now ready to be stuck on the fridge door! The moment it was done, he take a look at it and said "Mama, that's nice! Satgi show abah ok?!?' Hahahaha! MASUK BAKUL ANGKAT SENDIRI.

I just can't wait for us to open our very own galery together, son!

Mamak barber can eat his heart out!

Dear Abah,

While you were away at work, mama did something that changed my total appearance from a zero to a hero. Look at me, what do you think of it?!

Mama is so ecstatic that she almost get back the tempurung haircut that she has always like on me! What about you abah?!? Do you like it too? Hehehe.

Dolls Vs. Robots

As a kid, I simply loved playing with dolls. ESPECIALLY the barbie dolls. So last couple of nights when we went for a quick shopping at one of the departmental stores, I suddenly get the urge to buy Barbie dolls. Look at those on the racks! They're simply divine, aren't they?

But for whom shall I buy them for???? I don't even have a daughter!!!

Even though the only son that we have can sometimes get confuse with his fashion sense, but still! He's a boy!

And being a boy, of course he will act boyish when it comes to the choice of toys he wants to play with. Oh my! He's just so into guns and robots now, I get kapla pusing every time he asks me to play with him.

Anyone care to lend me their daughter for just one day? I want to have a calm play session  hosting a pretend tea party with the dolls. Pretty please?!?!

You want those handbags for your keeping?I totally disapprove!!

Today I'm just pretty busy with the transcribing job. I told the little guy not to disturb me and brought his books and toys into the study room. Hoping that I could do my stuff in peace.

My wish didn't come true as he only managed to playealone for about 5 minutes, and then he started to bother me by asking so many questions just for the sake of distracting me from my work. So I told him firmly; "Please don't bother me, mama nak buat kerja". And then much to my dismay, he started to throw tantrum and screamed at me "JANGAN BUAT KERJA!!!" while threw the books and toys to the walls. I tried talking him out of it but tak jalan. So mak dia pun apa lagik! Tantrum balik lah!

That got him to settle down for a few moments. So I happily proceeded to do my work. After a while, I realized that things are like eerily quiet in here. So I look over my shoulder and saw this :

Don't you worry Mr. Galaxy Defender, I have your back!

I'm so tired! The big guy asked me to pay the maintenance fees at the management office today. So off I went in the morning, with the little guy in tow. I dreaded going down actually as I'm fasting, and I definitely knew what was in store for me if I go to the office.

And I was proven right!

The little guy decided to be the galaxy defender today, to prevent the planet earth from being hijacked by the aliens. Apparently, according to him, the aliens are all around us, hiding themselves inside the body of other animals. So you can only imagine my excitement when he wanted to go kill all the animals around us with his shotgun!

First he wanted to finish off all the fishes in the pond. Then all the birds flying high in the sky. As his loyal partner in crime, I had to be there to watch his back, just in case any of them made a surprise move to tackle him from behind.
Hoyeh partner! One down, 10 more to go!

And also to tell him which is his right foot and which is left foot when he wanted to put his sandals back on. After he was done with the mission.

Oh! Not fogetting to press the elevator buttons where he couldn't reach them.

So.

After all that I'll-be-watching-your-back favor from me, what did I get in return?

A portrait shoot from the man himself! Oh little guy, you might make a great galaxy defender, but you sure sucks at taking photographs! Perhaps you just stick to your former profession, oh kay!

Finally! It's about time! Even though this pic makes me look like a fat orang gaji tengah curi tulang, letak jugak lah. Since this is the only pic he managed to capture that has MY FACE in it.

Ok Mr. Buzz Lightyear Galaxy Defender, now go work on that camera trick to make your mother looks slim in all the piccas! GO GO!

The scariest nursery rhyme ever existed on planet Earth!

It has become our daily routine to sing and dance when the little guy watches Barney on the laptop. However, while I'm on a fasting marathon ni, I always tried to find reason to ngelat from dancing around to his current favorite ever nursery rhyme "Ring Around the Rosie". So I updated my status in FB, on how I dreaded the song and all. After a while my friend commented about the song which is believed to be related to the Black Plague.

So I googled about the Black Plague. OMG!! It was a horrible, horrible disaster occured in between 1347 and 1350. Back then, one in every four people in Europe died because of it. By 1352 it would wipe out a third of Europe's population, or 25 million people, and would continue to spread death off and on for the next 300 years.

That's scary ok! Imagine this : the pandemic was so fatal that even by touching the clothes of the people infected could transfer the virus to you. Families deserted their own fathers, mothers, and even children. It sounds so  much like the Doomsday to me!  I'm so very thankful we are not caught in the midst of it. Scary mary ok!

So.

Do you think that the little guy would let me get away from dancing with him, if I tell him how much horrified I am by the history of the Black Plague? Hehehe.

Tolong jangan benci saya sebab anak saya buat bising dalam panggung wayang!

The little guy has been getting so excited every time he sees the Toy Story 3 advert on TV. So last week  I was all set to bring him to his first movie experience ever! That's because I could see him associate with the movie characters and I noticed too that his attention span is getting better.

So, once the big guy gave his green light, I got so worked out thinking of the fun we were going to have watching movie together! It was the most anticipated moment of my life! One of my son's FIRST experiences in doing something huge! Tengok movie with a 2 y.o is a huge experience in my book okay!

So last Saturday, off we went to buy tickets for the movie. The big guy went to check at QB but it was full house except for midnight show. Oh no! Midnight is no good as little guy would be asleep by then, so off we went shopping first before making a stop at GSC Gurney Plaza. We reached GSC at around 6:30, and the next available slot for Toy Story 3 was at 9ish pm. The big guy refused to wait that long as we've been out since afternoon. So we had to settle for the available shows instead. Sob sob!

Seriously, I was soooo disappointed that we didn't managed to catch the Toy Story. Now, I don't know about you. But I seriously hate the way it makes me feel when I don't get to fulfill my baby's desire. Cehh! Macam lah dia kisah sangat kan. Come on, he's only 2 years! He wouldn't miss what he didn't get. But I don't know why, I was seriously sebak ja tetiba! I was thinking all sorts of things like "His first movie experience ever, and not watching something he had been so psyched about!". And things like that you know. I guess fathers don't get emotional like that, the way we mothers do. Tsk tsk tsk.

First popcorn experience!

First 1901 experience!

Oh and to make matters worse for me, every time he saw the Toy Story banner/bunting, the little guy would shout and jump with joy "Woooooww! Toy Stoyie!" and made people around him laughed looking at his over-excitement. Lagiiii la sebak mama dia kan!

Anyway, once we were inside the cinema - watching Nanny McPhee instead - the little guy was just excited all the same. He was quite jakun looking at big screen TV and the fantastic surround system, that he didn't take his eyes off the screen for the whole 10 minutes. But his attention span lasted for only that long, before he discovered the joy of the kerusi lipat and started to sandwich himself in between them. And trying to squeeze himself along the aisle and between his parents' legs. And oh, he even went overboard by asking for popcorn from the kakak seating in front of him! Nasib  the kakak thought the he was cute instead of annoying. I think. Cause the kakak just grinned joyously at him. Whatever.

However, the worst part was, he couldn't stop talking so loudly that I was afraid someone would throw eggs at us right there and then. Luckily no sumpah seranah came our way, though I noticed and tried to ignore some hateful stares from a couple of ladies after the show ended. Hiks. Anyway.  You can't blame me! I tried to be discreet with him by whispering every time I wanted to talk to him, but the big guy spoke to him in his normal voice every time, which in that hushed environment sounded like a bomb explosion at Pearl Harbour! Haih! So the little guy, taking cue from his dad, thought that it was okay to scream like he always does. At one point of the movie, where the pigs were doing amazing stunts on the screen, he shouted so loud "Woowwwwwww!!!! PIG FLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!" that I almost went into hiding under the chair. Oh tapi tak muat, I was too big for the minute space. Haha!

The movie was quite good, and I enjoyed it despite not paying 100% attention to what was shown on the screen. I know the little guy had such fun time too, though he didn't understand half of it. But the best thing was, he just loved being in the cinema as it was totally a new experience for him. Oh, he didn't tell me that! I just made it all up to make it sound as if it was such unforgettable experience for a 2 y.o like him. Hahaha!!

But seriously, despite not getting to watch what we initially planned to watch, the experience was still priceless. Hopefully the big guy tak serik wanna bring his son to the movie again. We still have time to catch the Toy Story 3 this weekend kan kan kan! Hehehe.

Oh, since tak dapat tengok the movie, I bought the toy for him instead. Now my days are filled with the rifle shots by the bravest galaxy defender ever, Muhammad Aqil Irfan!! *pengsan!*

What???? The diaper cake biz is no longer mine, ALONE?!?

So The Body shop is having sale. As I needed to get some basic necessities , on the way to our main destination for the day, we 'dropped by' Gurney Plaza. I was then reminded why I always hate shopping during 'Sale' time. Manusia macam ulat! If you are a humpty dumpty like me, there's no way for you to squeeze in between the people to properly select the stuff that was on sale! Benci!

So with the big boss watching me like a hawk the whole time while I browsed through the stuff,  I only managed to  buy kalau-tak-beli-hidup-tak-complete stuff. These were hardly on sale though. I had no opportunity to kirai duit on the harum-haruman that were on sale gila-gila!. Sedih tau!

Let me tell you something, if you haven't know. Have you notice how dangerous it is to go out without the kids in tow. Yes, it is! It would be truly hazardous to your bank account. Because every shops we went into, each stalls that we passed by, I was reminded of the little guy who had been left at PIL's place. I was thiiiiiiiiiiissss close to getting him a pair of crocs, but of course my kedekut big guy stopped me midway. As usual.

So we got a box doughnut for the little guy instead. Do you notice that one piece has gone missing? That's because while the big guy pi beli ayam dan ikan kat market, the big momma who waited in the car couldn't stand looking at them, maka seketoi ngappp masuk mulut big momma! Maafkan momma, Irfan.

On the way back to PIL's, I was just looking out the window when something caught my eyes. What?! You gotta be kidding me! I'm not the sole maker of diaper cake in  the whole Penang?!? I can't believe my eyes when I saw the banner. A florist somewhere near Anson Road provides the same type of baby gifts too. Ini tak boleh jadi. Next week, by hook or by crook, I'm going to raid the shop!

Anybody wants to join force with me?!?

Nafsu makan yang membuak!

The son loves eating, just like his momma. At home, the only food he'd find after rummaging through the whole house would be either plain bread and nasik! Thus, because he doesn't get to stuff himself silly during the weekdays, he would take revenge during weekends when he crash at his grandparent's place.

There, he can never keep his mind off food. He would eat like every hour or so as there's always an abundant supply of foods for this boy to get crazy over. Like last Sunnday morning, he had nasi tomato for breakfast, and a couple of minutes after he climbed on the table to grab the bottle of peanut butter and jam. "Sedapppp nih!" he told me so taking the hint aiiii!bole plak hint-hint kat kita!, I made him a piece of peanut butter and jam sandwich to munch on.

Suddenly, it must have crossed his mind that he was stuffing himself unreasonably for the past couple of days. Thus, he dragged his heavier self on to the weighing machine to weigh himself, and got the shock of his life looking at the number!

"Mak aih! Biaq betoiiii!!! I can't believe I gained thiiiis much already!!!"

Haaa tahu takpa, control-control la sikit nafsu makan tu! Hahaha!

Home Schooling Progress

Kids at this age really have the mind of a spongue, kan? They absorb things we teach them just like spongebob squarepants Irfan's yellow bath spongue absorbed his bubble bath.

MY HUSBAND had been teaching Irfan selawat atas nabi and he had been able to recite them for a while now. Why did I capitalize the word husband? Because he has been claiming that it was all due to his teaching, not me or anyone else! So since he craves for the acknowledgement so bad, I'm gonna give it ALL to him, and let everyone know how good a teacher he can be. Hahaha!

Anyway recently, we MY HUSBAND had been teaching him doa makan and just a couple of minutes ago, before Irfan had his bottle of milk, I requested that he recites the doa first. Guess what? He recited the whole length of the doa all by himself, without any help from me! But oh I did prompt him after each syllable..."lagi??"..."lagi?..

This is how he recited them : Awwah...umaa..bayik...lana...fima..rajaq...tana..wakina...aja...banar...

Oh yes, with the slang of pelat-ness and all, that can't be helped of course but he knows it by heart so Alhamdulillah! I'm sooo happy and that only boost up my spirit to teach him more doa. Or perhaps we should start with Aliff Baa Taa soon.

At least now I won't feel so pressured when people ask me when am I gonna send my son to school. For now, he can learn just as well, home-schooled!

Busy Week For My Mama

Hello everyone!

Mama has been pretty busy lately, not only has she been ignoring her blog, but she has been ignoring me as well! Look at what I had to do to get her attention, even for just a fraction of a second.

She brought me to a play date earlier this evening, and I heard her telling my daddy that it spelled  D I S A S T E R. She said I had been very naughty but all I knew is that I only wanted to play. I guess she will tell you guys all about it when she has the time to spare.

Oh shoot!!! It's now wayyyyyyyy past my bedtime so I better tuck myself in before my mama finds me knocking on the keyboard. She gets irritated easily nowadays and I don't want to be on her bad side.

So nite-nite everyone. Sleep tight. Don't let the bed bug bites!

Where Has My Baby Gone (To)?

I just got back my phone last night, and the first thing I did upon waking up this morning was to listen to the songs on my playlist.

One of the song, Ruang Rindu by Letto, transported me back to almost 2 years back when Irfan was just a helpless tiny little guy who needed his mother to do everything for him. Oh, I miss my little Mr. Dependent, CAN I HAVE MY BABY BACK?!?
