First day fasting, mood memasak belum mari. So I thought this year I might not cook beria-ria for break fast. But since 1st break fast was at the PIL's, lega laahhhh.
Then yesterday I planned to make something simple but different than usual. Kang ada orang complain to my mother bini dia asyik masak yang tu, yang tu, yang tu ja kan! :-p So after much thinking, ! decided on ikan bakaq curah sambal, ayaq asam and ikan (masin) gelama goreng cili. Haaa ambik, that's not THE USUAL we've been having, is it big guy? Hehehe.
So last night's Iftar, everything was home-cooked except for some PaRam-bought popiah goreng pedas and karipap. Popiah goreng pedas has been my must-have bukak posa kuih ever since the little guy was born. Breaking fast feels incomplete without it!
Now I know why my dad called it Ikan Mata Besaq. Look at those sexy eyes uols! |
Somehow, the ikan bakaq turned out ok, but not as I hoped it would be. Baked in the oven, it didn't have the caramelize effect I was hoping it would have. Perhaps I've used the wrong method to bake the fishes, so today gonna try out the broiling method with some chicken pulak! Let's just hope it works.
What did you guys had for Iftar? :-)
